Recorded 49 tackles, including 11 for loss, and spearheaded one of the nation's top rushing defenses. Named as the Fiesta Bowl's outstanding defensive player.
"My dad taught me how to be a man and to always work hard," Miller said. "He also taught me that there would be days where you don't want to do anything like go to work, school or practice, but you have to keep on going. I also remember nights where our family would eat dinner on an ironing board. All of these things make me thankful for the sacrifices they made for me while growing up." Despite his father's relocation prior to his senior year, Miller stayed in Killeen with his mother so that he could finish his high school career at Shoemaker. The move paid off as he signed with Texas that winter. With his NCAA eligibility spent, Miller recently got another call one from the NFL inviting him to a combine in Arizona starting on Jan. 18. The day before the NFL combine starts, Miller will compete in the
East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 17 in Houston. "It's an honor to be invited to the NFL combine and the Shrine game," Miller said. "There are a lot of great players who don't get either of those opportunities." As far as speculation of when and where Miller will go in the NFL draft in April, he has no idea. "I'm just going to keep training and work hard and hope for the best," he said.
